General
Name/Nickname: Logan
Age or Age Group: 40s
Country: England
Pronouns: He/him

You
Do you have any hobbies?: Weather, trains (esp. steam trains), Roman and post-Roman history, retrocomputing.
Do you have any interests, that wouldn't fall under a hobby?: I don't play sport myself, but I love cricket and am into some kinds of motorsport.
Any dislikes?: Cruelty comes top. And "dislike" is too strong, but I'm not a dog person at all.
Are you into fandom?: Yes, and though not overwhelmingly so it is an important part of my social life. I read a lot of fanfic and write it occasionally. My Little Pony in particular -- you'd be surprised.
What does your day to day look like?: I deliberately keep work stuff out of this DW. But otherwise I lead a fairly ordinary life. I walk at least an hour a day, often a bit more.

Entertainment
What do you like to watch?: Old British sitcoms, some cartoons, His Dark Materials, really most things that aren't anime (just never clicked) or nasty gory stuff. However, I don't watch much TV, not even on streaming.
What movies do you enjoy?: Ones where I can kick back and relax, nothing too brutal or hard going. Indiana Jones, the pre-Craig James Bonds, some Disney films, you get the picture. Not a fan of Jackass-type humour, though.
Do you play games? If so, what do you like?: My old PC isn't up to much, but I do like playing sim racing games occasionally.
If you like to read, what do you read?: I love Lindsey Davis's Marcus Didius Falco books, about a Roman private eye. I read lots of non-fiction. Not that big on airport novels; I prefer books that aren't 900 pages long.
What kind of music do you listen to?: Melodic -- rap and noise just aren't my things. I was a student during the height of Britpop, so that's in there. But mostly stuff between the 1960s and 1990s. Roughly speaking, if it has Autotune it's likely to be too modern for me!

Journal & Friending
What do you post about?: Everyday ramblings, food and drink, local stuff, photos, some politics, science (yes, inc. Covid occasionally).
How often do you update?: I'm trying to update every day, though I don't always manage that. I rarely post more than a couple of times in a day.
What do you look for in a DW friend?: I don't really have strong views there. Bar what's in "deal-breakers" bit below, if you're interested then go for it.
What do you like to read about on your friends page?: I'm not too fussy, though it is nice if I can comment at least occasionally. If you only ever post about obscure Vietnamese cartoons or something, that's probably not ideal.
Do you have any kind of friending policy?: Again, bar the "deal-breakers" bit below, I'm happy if people sub and unsub at will. You don't need to specifically tell me if you do the latter.
Do you have any deal-breakers?: Extreme political views. Mine are fairly moderate and centre-left liberalish by British standards.
Is there anything others should know before friending?: Probably, but I can't think of it right now. Please tell me if you think of it first!
Anything else? It's 19 years since I started on LiveJournal, but I only returned to journalling properly during the pandemic, after getting fed up with Twitter's tendency to ignore grey areas. My DW is 90% public, so what you can see is a reasonable representation.
