I think we have a lot in common! I loved Final Girls--I watch new-to-me horror movies once a day throughout October and was astonished at how I'd never heard of the movie, and how good it was. Definitely one of the best ones I watched.

I highly recommend Daniel Stone's The Food Explorer: The True Adventures of the Globe-Trotting Botanist Who Transformed What America Eats--it follows David Fairchild throughout his life and how he (and his helpers) brought diverse crops to the US at a time when the US was only known for a small handful of items.
