The New Year Do you have any resolutions?: Not really - I'd rather set myself some goals when I really feel I need to rather than around an arbitrary line, as nice as it is to have a fresh start. Are there any new books, music, games, shows, etc. that you want to dive into?: My to-read pile is huge so definitely new books! Currently I'd like to re-read Orland by Virginia Woolf as I'm going to see a play adaptation next month. Speaking of plays, I'd definitely like to go back being a more active theatregoer. Are there any small or big events that you're planning for this year?: Summer holidays and potential short breaks to Italy to see my family (I like in the UK but I'm from Rome). Any new interests/hobbies that you'd like to try out?: I always say I'd like to pick up Spanish again as I've forgotten everything since studying it at uni...but not sure it'll ever happen. Did you accomplish your resolutions from last year?: (If not, that's okay. Just skip this one) Nope, didn't have any! What were your favorite memories from the past year?: Spending Easter break here with my partner, a weekend in Paris with friends. Do you have any new years traditions?: Nope. Is there anything you'd like to do more of in 2023?: I said this in my end of year survey - energy. The last couple of years drained me mentally and physically, and last year I felt like an empty glass most of the time.
The New Friends What kind of friend(s) are you searching for?: People with similar interests who are genuinely interested in connecting, and most of all that have no interest in drama. What do you like to read about?: I like reading about people's everyday life, it's that simple. I also do like an intro post, as sometimes it's hard to understand what's going on arriving mid-action! How often do you check your friends feed?: Daily, although it's harder when I'm in the office (2-3 days a week currently) Do you have any deal-breakers?: The usual - racism, homophobia, xenophobia, religious extremism. Oh, and Brexit, for obvious reasons. Do you mind reading about fandom?: I'm not into any fandom so if that's all you write about chances are we won't click. I don't mind the occasional post obviously, although I rarely read as I wouldn't have much to contribute. If so, what fandoms would you like to read about?: n/a
Currently... Reading: English Food - A People's History by Diane Purkiss and The Empire by Michael Ball. Watching: White Lotus (I rarely watch tv/tv series, but my friend/flatmate wanted to watch this and I passively agreed...) Playing: Arctic Monkey's latest album, out of curiosity (not liking it so far lol!) Thinking about: Clearing out my lounge/gym clothes later this afternoon Hobby/Interest: Same as ever - art, culture, things to do in London, reading... Planning for: My return to work on Thursday after holidays.
