The New Year
Do you have any resolutions?:
No. It's a setup to feel bad about not keeping them. I do intend to eat better and get more exercise in the New Year. Doctor says!
Are there any new books, music, games, shows, etc. that you want to dive into?:
I am lately crazy about The English, and reading all of the fic that's out there. Please, someone, write more!
Are there any small or big events that you're planning for this year?:
My friends and I are talking about a trip to Paris. I need to be in better shape, though, because we'll be walking everywhere. It's very motivating.
Any new interests/hobbies that you'd like to try out?:
A new sewing machine tempts me. I've been hanging onto a couple of patterns forever, outfits that are exactly what I like but can't find ready-made.
Did you accomplish your resolutions from last year?:
N/A, as I made no resolutions.
What were your favorite memories from the past year?:
Several pleasant memories, but no one that stands out.

Not especially.

Travel.

What kind of friend(s) are you searching for?:
Like-minded folks. A lot of my friends list don't necessarily talk about fandom. Many talk about their lives, and it's fascinating.
What do you like to read about?:
Science fiction, mysteries, good novels, cheesy novels, a sprinkling of Regency romance (Georgette Heyer - think: Jane Austen Lite.) I am not highbrow.

Daily.

Extreme conservatism, Trumpism, Covid denial, homophobia, racism, sexism.
Do you mind reading about fandom?:
I love reading about fandom.
If so, what fandoms would you like to read about?:
For years I was into Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, and now I'm loving The English. Wish there was more fic for Hostiles (there's currently only one on AO3 - mine. Someone write some!)

Reading:
Currently reading a Barbara Michaels book, Vanish With The Rose. You may know her as Elizabeth Peters. She has a couple of pen names. (Elizabeth Peters=straight mystery, Barbara Michaels=mystery with overtones of the supernatural. Barbara Mertz is her real name, under which she wrote scholarly tomes about Egyptology.) Wishing Tana French would write a new novel. Ditto Mary Doria Russell. I love those two. Kate Atkinson is another.
Watching:
Rewatching The English. That show breaks my heart. On New Year's Eve some friends and I binge-watched Three Pines, as one of them is a big Louise Penny fan.
Playing:
Whatever my YouTube feed thinks I need to watch. Lately, it's been Playing For Change.
Thinking about:
Taking down the Christmas tree, mental health in the new year, stuff.
Hobby/Interest:
Cooking! I want to add a really good enchilada recipe to my repertoire. Ditto a really good tamale recipe.
