Do you have any hobbies?: Writing, reading, hiking, Renaissance studies…
Do you have any interests, that wouldn't fall under a hobby?: Obscure festivals for extreme music, discovering Europe on foot & by public transport, sitting in the sun and watching the world go by…
Any dislikes?: capitalism, neoconservatism, neoliberalism, bigotry, religious fundamentalism of any sort, racism… the big issues, you see… and littering. And SUVs.
Are you into fandom?: I discovered journaling through (Harry Potter) fandom, many years ago, but am no longer fannish that way. Still like ficfests and exchanges, though, and will gladly participate. Also, I’m very faithful to some of my old fandoms, namely everything about the Borgia family, Bibleslash, and Renaissance RPF. That said, I’ll gladly discover new stuff!
What does your day to day look like?: Oh, the humdrum routines of a music journalist working for radio and print… plus birdwatching. Plus a lot of time spent on the phone with my spouse.

Entertainment
What do you like to watch?: I don’t have a tv, but will sometimes stream this and that… Preferably well-told narratives. Old mainstays like Sopranos, Mad Men, Rome… but also more recent stuff like Beforeigners, Suburra, Lupin.
What movies do you enjoy?: That much-maligned arthouse cinema. ;)
Do you play games? If so, what do you like?: Computer games? No. Not for any ideological reasons, but because I never got on the train, and now I’m too old and slow. Will join you for a few rounds of backgammon, though!
If you like to read, what do you read?: Nonfiction about historical topics, biographies, political theory… literature… graphic novels, manga… First Dog on the Moon cartoons… I’m not too discerning, but will throw stuff against the wall if it’s shoddily written.
What kind of music do you listen to?: Almost everything unless it is Product. I’m passionate about European old music (pre-“classical”), extreme variants of metal, songwriters, folk, completely naff punk rock, music from around the globe.

Journal & Friending
What do you post about?: Day-to-day musings, fic, recs… lovely, funny or remarkable stuff found elsewhere… RL tales of small mercies and catastrophes, sometimes in German, but mostly in English.
How often do you update?: 2-4 times a week?
What do you look for in a DW friend?: A solid and reliable exchange of ideas, but I also welcome challenges to my perception, which can sometimes be a tad hermetic. Unless we know each other well, I appreciate a degree of politenesse/netiquette.
What do you like to read about on your friends page?: If you deem it’s worth posting, I’ll probably find it worth reading! I’d like to see more of my sadly underloved fandoms (Souryo Fuyumi’s manga “Cesare”, Borgia-stuff, Bibleslash, historical / Renaissance RPF, historical musings) in other people’s journals, but … oh well. Not gonna happen, is it? Or maybe it will?
Do you have any kind of friending policy?: I’m fairly easygoing. If we find, in the course of things, that we have too little in common, hey, no hard feelings.
Do you have any deal-breakers?: Trump-fans, antivaxxers, conspiracy theorists, rightwingers, neoliberals, homophobes, terfs.
Is there anything others should know before friending?: There will be copious swearing, uncouth subjects, crass humour and horrible music. What’s not to like?
