The New Year
Do you have any resolutions?: Nope.
Are there any new books, music, games, shows, etc. that you want to dive into?: My list of things I want to try is always too long, but I can't think of anything that's coming up this year that I'm waiting for.
Are there any small or big events that you're planning for this year?: I want to do Seasons of Drabbles when it comes around, and audition for at least one local production.
Any new interests/hobbies that you'd like to try out?: Mostly going back to old ones I haven't had the energy for.
What were your favorite memories from the past year?: Seeing Hadestown live, watching TV with friends over Teleparty, finishing my first fic over 10k, finishing my first vid in a decade, meeting my kitty.
Do you have any new years traditions?: Food with family, games with family, watching the ball drop in times square even though I no longer live in that time zone
Is there anything you'd like to do more of in 2023?: Making vids, playing video games, reading, seeing live theater, cuddling my cats, talking to people, tabletop RPGs, tarot
The New Friends
What kind of friend(s) are you searching for?: Anyone! Trying to be around more and also socialize more in general, so if you're interested, welcome.
What do you like to read about?: Daily lives, things people love or enjoy, reviews or recommendations, fandom, deep thoughts on hobbies/topics that fascinate someone... pretty much anything.
How often do you check your friends feed?: Really depends on how often I'm around. When I'm on I check at least once a day, but I regularly wander away from DW and then come back a few months later.
Do you have any deal-breakers?: Racism/sexism/anti-queer/if you think it goes in this camp it probably does. Fandom wank or bullying. Pictures of bugs or wounds uncut. I may unfollow/not follow if you frequently post about politics or news without cuts, even if I totally agree with you -- as I say in my pinned, my job and my mother both spring that on me regularly, and I need to save spoons to deal with it then.
Do you mind reading about fandom?: Nope! I love fandom.
If so, what fandoms would you like to read about?: My main fandoms right now are Oxventure Presents: Blades in the Dark, Oxventure D&D, The Umbrella Academy TV show, Ted Lasso, and some old musicals; but honestly, I just like reading about what people are excited over, whether I'm in the fandom or not.
Currently...
Reading: I've been real bad at books for years, but I did just start rereading Narbonic for the hundreth-odd time, hopefully to finally finish Skin Horse this time!
Watching: I have been in S2 of The Magicians for two years now, and one day I will finish it. Also, in varying levels of focus and speed: (first times) Wednesday, Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist; (rewatches) Soap, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
Playing: Mostly just Papa's Cheeseria, Flight Rising, and various wordle games. When in mood for more indepth games, Sunless Sea, Sunless Skies, The Fermi Paradox.
Thinking about: Snowflake Challenge, work, how cute my cats are
Hobby/Interest: Tabletop RPGs, music, knitting (badly), theater (especially musicals), Tarot, Pokemon Go
Planning for: Not much right now

The New Year
Do you have any resolutions?: Not really. I would always like to get back to working out and read more but I don't keep official resolutions, since I always am sure I'm going to break them lol
Are there any new books, music, games, shows, etc. that you want to dive into?: So many! I am always the person who is like "Oh, I will watch that" and just don't. Definitely "Only Murders in the Building" and "Ghosts" are on the top of my list.
Are there any small or big events that you're planning for this year?: Not at the moment. I haven't been out of the state since the pandemic began so I would love to travel at some point, but I haven't even begun to think about making plans.
Any new interests/hobbies that you'd like to try out?: Only expanding on some current ones - I'd like to really become better at cooking
Did you accomplish your resolutions from last year?: (If not, that's okay. Just skip this one) I didn't make any last year though I was hoping to get reading done and I didn't
What were your favorite memories from the past year?: My sister's graduation and spending time with my family in general, and the reveals of the first exchange I've co-modded,
Do you have any new years traditions?: We host people (mostly family) over on NYE. It's a nice way to spend time without having to go out
Is there anything you'd like to do more of in 2023?: Probably read and travel
The New Friends
What kind of friend(s) are you searching for?: Just people I can get to know and talk to. It would be nice to have something in common but not necessary
What do you like to read about?: People's lives and interests
How often do you check your friends feed?: I aim for daily but at least a few times a week
Do you have any deal-breakers?: Trump supporters/Republicans, bigots of all kind (homophobia/transphobia/racism), COVID deniers/anti vaxxers/anti science. While I very rarely post about politics, I am a liberal
Do you mind reading about fandom?: No. I post about fandom/my fanfic. My main fandoms are Smallville, Gilmore Girls and MCU. Other fandoms/my ships can be found on my profile
If so, what fandoms would you like to read about?: The fandoms I'm in are the ones I engage with, but I have plenty of friends whose fandoms I'm not in so it's not a deal breaker
Currently...
Reading: fanfic
Watching: American football
Playing: Wordle (and other varieties)
Thinking about: plans for the new year
Hobby/Interest: baking and yoga
Planning for: nothing at the moment

Some international things are very easy to cook in big batches, like rice or dal (legume) dishes. One way to encourage kids to try different foods is to offer a staple item, like rice, along with different things they can put on it, like chili or dal. But that depends on the serving situation. You can always just go with sheetpan cornbread.

The New Year
Do you have any resolutions?: Nothing specific, only to do well this year.
Are there any new books, music, games, shows, etc. that you want to dive into?: I just wrote a journal excerpt, but I'm planning on reading more disability literature this year. I don't really have anything else in mind, so I'll go along with the flow.
Are there any small or big events that you're planning for this year?: Currently planning the Lunar New Year celebration at my university. In the beginning stages of planning the university's Cherry Blossom festival. I thought I would graduate in 2023, but I think I may have to postpone to 2024, which I'm very disappointed in.
Any new interests/hobbies that you'd like to try out?: Not exactly new, but I'm looking forward to getting back in baking again this year. I bought a KitchenAid mixer at long last!
What were your favorite memories from the past year?: 2022 was kinda rough, but I won a few awards, which I was very happy about. I also got an internship in a field I never thought I would be able to get in, so I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn more.
Do you have any new years traditions?: I don't really celebrate New Year, but I do celebrate Lunar New Year as a Chinese American person.
Is there anything you'd like to do more of in 2023?: A friend invited me to rock climb (in a gym) two months ago, and I would like to continue rock climbing this year.
The New Friends
What kind of friend(s) are you searching for?: I'm open-minded, but as long as we have something in common and our personalities mesh well, I'm happy.
What do you like to read about?: I usually love to read fantasy/science fiction, but in the last couple years or so, I've been expanding my horizons to other genres, such as memoirs, historical, romance, and more. I'm of the opinion that as long as it's a good story, I'll enjoy it regardless. My only exception is horror.
How often do you check your friends feed?: Once a day at least.
Do you have any deal-breakers?: Don't be a weirdo or mean. I don't tolerate bigotry, including but not limited to, racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism, Nazism, fascism, etc... Would rather not deal with any purity police or anyone under 21 years old too.
Do you mind reading about fandom?: I'm super into fandoms, but I don't really like the fandom drama. Long as we mostly stick to discussing the interests, we're good.
If so, what fandoms would you like to read about?: I'm quite open to a lot, but for starters I'm really into manga/light novels/etc.
Currently...
Reading: Empire of Pain by Patrick Radden Keefe
Watching: Alchemy of Souls
Playing: Pokemon Scarlet, Twisted Wonderland
Thinking about: Currently how to be a potato for the rest of my life. Lukewarmly thinking about summer internships and graduation.
Hobby/Interest: Consuming fantasy stories in any form. Disability justices/rights. Cooking/baking. Eating.
Planning for: Survival in this year, as usual.
