Is it spring yet in your part of the world: Yes, thankfully. I was so tired of cold tempertures

What's your favorite thing about spring: Warmer temperatures, gardening, having the windows open...so kind of all of it!

Have you been doing any spring cleaning: Yes and no. Not as much as I'd like to be. We've cleaned up our garage and got most of a garage sale set up, but that and working 5 days a week, hasn't left much time for indoor cleaning. Well outside of dishes and laundry. I'm always so done with responsibilities when the weekend hits lol. Depression has dampered my motivation too unfortunately.

If comfortable sharing, any spring goals: Not really any, to be honest. If anything, I've been working on more sewing (namely fabric coasters and scrunchies!) but no direct goals yet. Just practice for now.

What are your likes or dislikes about spring: Not really any dislikes, but I enjoy gardening so that's a pretty big like. I plan to set up a garden or two in the yard, but I'm need to find a place to buy bigger rocks for the garden edges.

Do you have any spring-based hobbies: Gardening, spring cleaning, doing other hobbies with the windows open lol.

Do you have a favorite flower: All flowers have their own beauty in their own way, but if I had to pick two that just amazes me (and smells so good) - Lavender and Hyacinths! I hate that hyacinths don't bloom but once a year :c

Do you like being outdoors or prefer staying indoors: A mixture of both.

Do you do friend cuts? If so, how often: Yes and no. To explain, I do cut people who haven't posted or communicated for 2 or more years, or if I find a person who's starting drama or being mean for no reason. Otherwise, I'm understanding that life may get in the way of communication at times on DW and I don't hold that against people.

How often do you post: It's been a rough once a week lately because work has been a dumpster fire and has zapped my energy but I'm hoping to post more. I have so many ideas and things to talk about!

What do you post about: What do I not post about lol. Life, thoughts, crafts, hobbies, articles, recommendations, memes, surveys/questionnaires. Sexual topics do come up from time to time so no under 18's please. Sometimes I rant and post about depression but that's not a main focus of my posts. I try to keep posts light and peaceful.

Is it spring yet in your part of the world: Yes, finally! We went through a cold snap for the past two weeks but it is finally getting warmer again now.
What's your favorite thing about spring: The weather getting warmer and sunnier - in the past years, winter has been mostly rainy, gloomy and wet here which makes me depressed. Also, the flowers popping back up is just beautiful.
Have you been doing any spring cleaning: A little bit here and there, when I've had the spoons to do so.
If comfortable sharing, any spring goals: Nothing in particular, I have goals for the year as such that I am working on.
What are your likes or dislikes about spring:
Likes: pretty much what I listed above
Dislikes: allergies acting up - some years are worse, some years better. Also, extreme temperature swings that have been worsening (thanks climate change!). For example, a couple weeks ago temperatures went from 27 C to 6 C in the span of three days, and my body doesn't like that at all. All in all, though, I like spring.

Do you have any spring-based hobbies: Not really? There are some hobbies I do more often, for example taking walks.
Do you have a favorite flower: I know they're considered "funeral flowers" but I think calla lilies are beautiful. Lilies in general are! I also love sunflowers.
Do you like being outdoors or prefer staying indoors: I do enjoy being outdoors but sometimes I need to retreat into my apartment to re-charge my batteries.

How do you like to communicate: I mostly communicate via comments, either on my own posts or on yours. I am not a person to communicate a lot outside of here, unless we've known each other for a while. It's not because I am arrogant or don't want to get to know you better, I'm just shy and it takes me a lot of energy to keep up with writing with a lot of people.
Do you do friend cuts? If so, how often: Not anymore. I sometimes don't have enough time to write here regularly so I would be a hypocrite to cut people for inactivity! I would only cut if you wrote something extremely hateful/that goes against my values, but I haven't had that happen so far. (and I do try to talk about things first in case I misunderstood something!)
How often do you post: I aim for a general life update once a week.
What do you post about: Life in general, pictures, travels I do, holiday wishes, occasional memes/surveys. Basically anything that goes through my head and that I deem worthy of sharing.

- People who need everything to be 100% positive all the time. While I don't think my journal is particularly heavy or "emo", I do deal with mental illness issues and want to feel comfortable writing about them. That's not supposed to sound mean at all, but if somebody's dealbreaker is "too much negativity", I would become anxious and worry all the time where my posts started crossing that person's line of "too much". If that makes sense? Again, no offense meant towards anyone personally ♥

- On that note, intolerance and/or prejudices towards mental illness.

- I know that nobody would probably call themselves a "bigot" but the usual bigotry/"ism"s or right-wing politics.

- People who only post about their partner/spouse and/or children, or the heavily religious. (Being religious/faithful is completely fine, but if you think your religion is the one "true" one and everyone who does not follow it goes to hell/is less than, that's not acceptable!)

As for the partner/children aspect, of course there is nothing wrong with that, I just wouldn't be able to relate because I personally do not have either.

I know I might sound a bit complicated or demanding but I am really quite friendly, so feel free to reach out ♥ I am looking forward to getting to know individuals from all walks of life! Also feel more than free to ask for clarifications on anything I write, sometimes I am bad at phrasing myself.

You might consider recurring posts. Most folks consider a blog "active" if it posts at least once a month. So if you do a month-beginning or end post about what you've been doing, that's one way to maintain activity. You could also pick a favorite topic to post about regularly. If you prefer spontaneous posts, browse the "today" category. Two of my favorite unscheduled ones that I use a lot are Today's Adventures and Today's Cooking.

I enjoy many things about it -- getting outside again after winter, the various phases of spring planting, watching the leaves come out and flowers bloom. Something new happens almost every day, the world is always changing.

A little, but mostly outside -- raking leaves off flowerbeds, picking up sticks, and such.

This year, in addition to usual goals that are (planting) or can be (photography) done in spring, I actually made a set of specifically seasonal goals in my list. For spring:

Well, I used to dislike the Moon of Mud Everywhere aspect, but it's been so dry here last year and this year, that hasn't really happened.

Birdwatching has a peak in spring (and fall) due to migration. If you're into that, see birdwatching. I try to get in at least one hike to view wildlife and plants. I enjoy seasonal cooking, and spring is when new things start to become available again -- asparagus, strawberries, and so on. This year I discovered that the leaves of my linden tree, which is an edible tree, taste exactly like asparagus. I'm trying not to eat them all off like a goat. May as well add foraging as a hobby: I love being able to walk around the yard and put things in my mouth, so I garden accordingly.

Do you have a favorite flower:
I love miniature irises because they're so bright and bloom so early. Bluebells are another favorite. My snowdrops are wandering everywhere. Crocuses give the bees an early snack. I like daffodils and tulips. Grape hyacinths for their watercolor blossoms. Lilies of the valley are blooming now with their sweet perfume.

What do you post about: My life and thoughts. I'm an illustrator, and I'm currently looking for my own place to live after moving back with my parents after working in Korea. I have a lot of hobbies (sewing, drawing, reading, musical theatre) and I'm hoping to go back to uni soon to do a masters so I can actually move my career away from illustration. I also deal with a few chronic & mental health conditions, I don't really post about it much but it's there in the background (and also affects my activity levels).

What's your favorite thing about spring? Walking. I adore walking at this time of year, when the leaves are bright green, the weather is (sometimes!) warm but the air is still fresh rather than humid.
Have you been doing any spring cleaning? Yes, but I'm no clean freak and so tend not to do much more than keep the place decent.

My politics are fairly traditional centre-left from a British standpoint. If you think "centrist" really means "hard-right winger who just won't admit it" then we probably won't get on, since in my country that's not the case. I'm not religious but have no problem with those who are, as long as they don't push it on me. LGBT people are welcome.

Actual deal-breakers? Not too many. Putin/Xi supporters. Trumpers.¹ Anti-vaxxers. Extreme political views (Stalinism, ultra-nationalism, "no abortions should be allowed ever" people, etc). People more interested in angry ranting than conversation, or who can't imagine any view but their own having any legitimacy at all. Also, cruelty. I consider that the worst sin of all.
¹ That's specific. Non-Trumpy right-leaning people aren't deal-breaking.

Have you been doing any spring cleaning: Yes. I find it strange that, now that I'm in my mid-30s, I enjoy puttering around my apartment tidying up. It's an odd hobby but a soothing one and I wake up to a nice clean apartment in the morning!
If comfortable sharing, any spring goals: I'm currently querying, sending my picture book manuscripts to agents and publishers. Cross your fingers for me, please!
What are your likes or dislikes about spring: I like the nice weather and the flowers. I dislike being stuck indoors at work instead out out enjoying the season!
Do you have any spring-based hobbies: The flower photos, like I mentioned, and taking long walks around Tokyo - but that's an "any time of the year [except summer]" hobby.
Do you have a favorite flower: Ooh, impossible to pick just one! I like plum blossoms (winter), cherry blossoms (spring), and hydrangeas (summer)!
Do you like being outdoors or prefer staying indoors: Hm, depends on the weather but I do feel better if I get outside sometimes, even for just a quick walk around the block. I feel bad if I stay indoors all day. … but I'm a city gal, not out in ~nature, you know?
Do you have any spring-time (or in general) photos you'd like to share: Most of my accounts are friends only (tho I'm happy to add you there, too!) but I do have a public dollstagram account (American Girl, BJD, MJD, etc.), if you're into that…?

What qualities are you looking for in a friend: I look for the same qualities in my Dreamwidth friends as I do in any social situation: someone who is friendly and supportive and not an asshole. It's nice if we have some interests in common but it's not strictly necessary.
How do you like to communicate: I leave comments occasionally and I like getting comments sometimes. Feel free to slide into my DMs or we can follow each other on other platforms, too.
Do you do friend cuts? If so, how often: Not formally, no. Sometimes I've unfriended people if we don't vibe but I don't make a big deal about it.
How often do you post: It depends: sometimes a few times a week, sometimes a few times a day.
What do you post about: I mostly write about my daily life, which, lately, means writing about what I'm thinking or reading about because my day job is kind of boring.
Is there anything you're not looking for: I'm probably not a good fit for a fandom (only) journal - I like hearing about other people's hobbies but I haven't kept up with fandom for over a decade and I won't be able to follow lots of meta, etc.

Hi! I came back to this post to see if anyone new had posted after me and saw your intro. I also clicked on your profile and I see you're a school librarian? That's really cool! (I know you said above your day job is kind of boring, but as a fellow librarian - but at a law firm - you're at the cool kids table according to me). And also poetry and a children's book you're shopping around sounds pretty awesome, too.

Is it spring yet in your part of the world: Ish? I feel like here it might be spring for maaaaybe a month and then, WHAM summer.
What's your favorite thing about spring: the rebirth of nature.

What qualities are you looking for in a friend: Sense of humour, friendly, interesting, nerdy, honest about their lives meaning the good, bad and ugly.
How do you like to communicate: On LJ I do it through comments.
Do you do friend cuts? I did my first Friend's Cut a couple months ago. I've gotten a bit tired of adding people on Friendzy's only to have them not interact with me on my journal at all. I'm not saying you need to comment constantly, but you can start to tell whose reading and whose not.
How often do you post: I'd say usually once a week.
What do you post about: Mainly daily life - my husband, dog Ava/cat Jinkx, my job, travel, friends, hobbies etc.
Is there anything you're not looking for: People who do nothing but talk about world issues - I feel like I see so much of that in the news/other forms of social media, if LJ is where you are putting these thoughts and only these thoughts, probably won't read much of your entries. Again, I don't mind once in awhile, but if that's all you are saying, we won't have much in common. I'm also not looking for people who add people and then immediately ignore them or make no effort to get to know them. I try to make an effort to get to know any new friends, and I would hope the feeling would be returned.
I guess also if you are a parent and talk 24/7 about your kid. I'm childfree, and I have no issue having parents as friends on here (I have a couple), but if your whole personality is your kid, again, I won't have much to say.
