Do you have any hobbies?: Plenty. I just rarely have time for them. Reading, writing, cello practice, videogames, collecting seashells, hunting favorite game merch on foreign auction sites, so on.
Do you have any interests, that wouldn't fall under a hobby?: History, anthropology, geography, archaeology, geology, geopolitics, epidemiology, and more. It'd be easier to list things I don't find interesting.
Any dislikes?: Plenty. I just don't seek them out and usually scroll past them if I see them online
Are you into fandom?: Very tiny ones. I only have time for one fandom these days, and that's going to be Final Fantasy V.
What does your day to day look like?: Get up, go to work, return to cabin in the woods, watch old TV shows on DVD because I can't stream anymore and play videogames that don't require much thought. If I'm not completely burned out from work, I might also write a little. Work may also include traveling for several days to even more backwater places.

Entertainment
What do you like to watch?: Sometimes sci-fi, sometimes fantasy, sometimes horror. It varies. I don't have broadband internet anymore so I can't keep up with the latest shows and have to resort to buying dvds/blu rays of everything. I still go back to Babylon 5 and Farscape every few years, though.
What movies do you enjoy?: See above.
Do you play games? If so, what do you like?: JRPGs, strategy rpgs especially. Big into older Final Fantasy games and the Ogre series. As I hit upon a tech wall back when I couldn't afford consoles anymore, I'm a bit outdated when it comes to newer games.
If you like to read, what do you read?: Bit of everything, but lately I am sick of some very common things and am just focusing on wlw/sapphic/lesbian fiction because I'm a butch lesbian and sorely in need of it.
What kind of music do you listen to?: Bit of everything, but when I really want to focus on writing or my projects at work, I'll bring up Haydn, Bach, Rachmaninoff, et al on the media player.

What do you post about?: Detailed RL stuff goes behind friendslock. Sometimes I'll post travel photos and photos of my collections if my internet connection is good enough. Sometimes I'll talk excitedly about my fandoms or fandom projects, or about living in the boonies. And sometimes it's just being vague about rl stuff. Very rarely will I vent about my disabilities and the way people treat me because of them, and that's usually behind friendslock.
How often do you update?: Once or twice a week, but I'm trying to be better about it.
What do you look for in a DW friend?: Someone interesting, but not preachy about anything we might disagree on. Your lived experience is not mine, and I expect that to be respected.
What do you like to read about on your friends page?: Anything, really. I scroll past anything I don't want to read.
Do you have any kind of friending policy?: Don't be a dick.
Do you have any deal-breakers?: No antis, please.
Is there anything others should know before friending?: I'm multiply disabled, biracial, was raised in both US and rural central Mexican cultures, and am several varieties of queer. Don't really care for the current twitter/tumblr fandom trend towards puritanism and kinkshaming, and don't care for being bludgeoned with people's firmly held opinions. I'm bound to piss someone off by existing.

Anything else? ... I like girls? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also, I live in the middle of nowhere and the only good grocery store is over an hour away. My only internet connection is my phone and I run up the hotspot data cap on the regular, so there are periods where I just won't be able to reply at all. Also contributing to lack of connectivity is having to do work trips to even more remote places. So if constant attention is what you need, I can't provide it. Sorry!

Are you into fandom?: Not really. I am a fan of certain things, like Doctor Who and Lord of the Rings, but not in the communities. Is that the difference? I don't really know, haha. I don't mind if my friends are, though.
What does your day to day look like?: I am working from home, hopefully forever! I am a law librarian, so my Monday-Friday is spent doing legal research for our attorneys and paralegals. I make dinner most nights. My FH and I like to watch some YouTube content creator and stuff on the various streaming services while we eat. I find time to read somewhere in between. Weekends are for friends or going out to eat or shopping, things like that.

Entertainment
What do you like to watch?: I like some of the Marvel spin-off shows. One of my recent favorite shows is What We Do in the Shadows. I also like a lot of British humor, and we like the Big Fat Quiz and Would I Lie to You?, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, and so on. David Mitchell is my favorite curmudgeon. We also really enjoy Taskmaster. I never was much for reality tv, but FH got me watching Amazing Race, and I convinced him to watch Love is Blind with me, haha.
What movies do you enjoy?: I don't watch a super-lot of movies. It depends on what I'm in the mood for. I've seen most of the MCU stuff and enjoyed it. I like foreign films, especially Italian - older, classic cinema.
Do you play games? If so, what do you like?: I like puzzle games and platformers. While I enjoy the look of big, cinematic RPGs, I get very easily confused and turned around for gameplay, so I am content to sit and watch someone play Skyrim instead of me attempting to do so!
If you like to read, what do you read?: Love to read! I read a little bit of everything - non-fiction, sci-fi/fantasy, historical fiction, whatever piques my interest, really.
What kind of music do you listen to?: lots of stuff from the 70s-90s, but I also like Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande, some other newer pop stuff.

You sound like someone I could get along with well, and we have a bunch of things in common - I also love reading, podcasts and puzzles, as well as trying new things food and drink-wise & Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande. (Wow, that was one run-on-sentence, sorry 'bout that!)
I went to college for library sciences (sadly didn't graduate for health reasons) so I would be intrigued hearing about your work.

Lastly we share the same dislikes so you definitely won't get any of that crap on my journal.

What movies do you enjoy?: Well, I was never one to really go to movie theaters before the ‘rona, but I always made sure I saw Marvel movies in the theater.
Do you play games? If so, what do you like?: Yes! Right now, I’m playing Verdant Skies and Two Point Hospital, but some of my other fave games are Terraria, Stardew Valley, Slime Rancher, and old Nintendo and PS1 games. (I don’t play those often since I’m almost exclusively a PC gamer.)

I identify as a metalhead, because most of my fave bands fall into that genre or are genre-adjacent. Some of my favorite metal bands are Ministry and Tool (which I actually got to see in concert last week and last Sunday :D), Filter, Poppy, SKYND, Nine Inch Nails, and 90s era Alice in Chains. I also like punk. I get nostalgic over some 80s pop and a lot of 90s alt rock. I like Tori Amos’ early stuff. And, possibly weirdly, I like female-fronted Kpop.

Do you have any hobbies?: I've been in a bit of a hiatus over the past couple of months because we're in one of our extended-hours busy seasons at work and I'm also in the thick of coursework for a horticulture diploma, but normally, I'm a knitter! You could probably make the case that my twitter addiction constitutes a kind of hobby. This winter, I've been taking a learn to curl course, and I'm very into it and hoping to join a curling league next fall!
Do you have any interests, that wouldn't fall under a hobby?: I'm studying a little Spanish these days, because I work with a lot of Mexicans and would like to be able to talk to them more, and I have a PhD in medieval history that I'm not using professionally, but I'm still interested and read a little and vaguely keep up with the field!
Any dislikes?: Lots, but at the same time nothing specific springs to mind; I'm an environmentalist lefty politically, with all that entails.
Are you into fandom?: I'm mostly a lurker, and tragically between fandoms at the moment, but very much yes. I read a lot of fanfiction and write it occasionally, and I was a baby feral fan even before I discovered online fandom!
What does your day to day look like?: I work longish and inflexible hours that start fairly early, and I have a substantial commute, and the rest of my life has to fit around that.

What do you like to watch?: I don't watch much TV, and it's pretty rare for me to watch anything with a plot (the main exceptions in my life have been Stargate SG-1 and Sherlock). When I do watch TV, it's things like Great British Bake-Off or sports.
What movies do you enjoy?: I'm not a big movie fan and I'm even less a fan of the whole superhero genre of anything, which doesn't leave much.
Do you play games? If so, what do you like?: Not a gamer.
If you like to read, what do you read?: I spend too much of my reading time on twitter, but I do like to read! I read some mysteries (among my current faves, Louise Penny's Chief Inpsector Gamache series and Jean-François Parot's Nicholas Le Floch series) and various nonfiction, mostly history.
What kind of music do you listen to?: My preferred genres are things like folk and folk-rock. I really enjoy Cape Breton fiddle music, and also bagpipes! What I actually listen to, however, is a local rock radio station while I'm driving home from work.

What do you post about?: Daily life. I work at a reforestation nursery, and I post a lot about work, but generally, I treat my journal as a record of what I'm doing and thinking about day-to-day, and enjoy sharing that with people who are interested!
How often do you update?: At this point in my life, it's either post every day or rarely post, and I hate not having a record to look back at, so I have a post every day policy. I try to have at least a kernel of interest in every post, but sometimes all I can manage is a bad, boring post. It's about the habit, though.
What do you look for in a DW friend?: Someone who seems interesting to get to know, mostly; possibly but not necessarily someone I have things in common with.
What do you like to read about on your friends page?: I like reading about the details of other people's lives and interests. I also enjoy fannish content/media reactions/etc, but I like hearing about what people think and get up to, too.
Do you have any kind of friending policy?: Not really. I rarely post outside of access-lock, but I grant access to everyone who asks.
Do you have any deal-breakers?: Not many, unless you're a transphobe, anti-environmentalist, or alt-right neofascist antivaxxer-type.
Is there anything others should know before friending?: Mostly just the part about most of my posts being access-locked, and also, you should be prepared to read a lot about the intricacies of the process of growing millions of tiny trees.

Do you have any hobbies?: I do. :) My main hobby for the past few years has been learning Cantonese, but some of my other hobbies are reading, writing, drawing, and making miniature sets. Oh, and collecting 1980s My Little Ponies.
Do you have any interests, that wouldn't fall under a hobby?: My non-hobby interests are probably all more or less academic things. I'm a grad student; I study literature, and am also interested in philosophy, religion, and linguistics.
Any dislikes?: Sure, but I'd rather not bond with people over things we dislike. (I'd probably rather not be friends if you talk a lot about disliking things.)
Are you into fandom?: Less so than in the past, but yes. I occasionally read and write fanfiction or draw fan art, mostly for exchanges. Most of my best friends on LJ and Dreamwidth have always been fandom people. :)
What does your day to day look like?: Definitely not worth describing or posting about! That would be tedious for everyone, including me.

What do you like to watch?: Right now I'm mostly watching Chinese dramas and movies (mainly Cantonese-language stuff from Hong Kong). My all-time favorite TV shows are M*A*S*H and Star Trek TOS. Some other favorites have been Hannibal, Carnivale, Band of Brothers, and Black Mirror.
What movies do you enjoy?: My favorite movies are Lawrence of Arabia and The Deer Hunter. Some other favorites: The Prestige, V for Vendetta, Big Fish, Fight Club, The Godfather, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I also love Charlie Chaplin, the Marx Brothers, and classic old horror movies (Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, Vincent Price). I've also seen almost every Christopher Walken movie. As noted above, though, at the moment I'm mostly watching Hong Kong movies and shows -- especially everything starring Andy Lau or Tony Leung.
Do you play games? If so, what do you like?: I rarely play video games, but I'm often interested to read about what other people are playing.

What do you look for in a DW friend?: Enough mutual interests that we can enjoy reading each other's journals and comment to each other sometimes.
What do you like to read about on your friends page?: I enjoy a lot of things -- posts with reviews of books and movies, discussions of subjects people are learning about, crafts and other hobbies, classes and projects and activities, fannish discussions and promo posts... That being said, though, I'm not usually interested in journals that are mostly a log of daily activities, favorite/inspirational quotes, photography, politics, or fanwork links/recs.
Do you have any kind of friending policy?: Most of my posts are access-locked, but if we seem to have a few things in common, I'm pretty open to friending new people. I figure we can always unfriend each other later if it turns out we don't really click.
Do you have any deal-breakers?: Apart from the obvious "don't be a terrible human," I should note that if you post NSFW or sexual TMI stuff outside of cut tags, or a lot of images or videos outside of cut tags, I may unfriend you.

I guess just: tl;dr, at the moment, I'm mostly posting and reading about Chinese language learning and Cdramas, especially older (80s/90s) Hong Kong movies and shows, so you should probably only friend me if you're okay with that. What do you like to watch?: Kitsch crime dramas like Father Brown, and fairly recently, Sister Boniface Mysteries. Doctor Who, obvs, whatever attracts my attention on TV.

What do you post about?: I've just started posting again after a long hiatus of about 10 years. My posts so far have been about work and funerals. The 2 are not related. What do you look for in a DW friend?: Witty, a life that's similar to my own, or diametrically opposite. Don't have to like Doctor Who but no one is perfect. Hopes, dreams, nightmares. Long or short entries.

What do you like to watch?: I'm absolute rubbish at following series, be it on TV or streaming. My sister just invited me to watch that new Obi-Wan series that's coming in Disney+. As it entails going to her place to watch it, it might actually work, haha. I have a soft spot for the (older) episodes of Midsummer Murders and the Japanese drama "Midnight Diner", as well as the Danish series Matador, Rejseholdet (won an Emmy under the English title "Unit One", and Edderkoppen. The French series Kaamelott.
My favourite thing to watch is cycling, though.
What movies do you enjoy?: Historic dramas (though expect me to point out any and all flaws in regards to historical correctness, haha). Movies in a "historic" setting, yet with clear fantastical elements work better. Hayao Miyazaki-films. European movies. Tim Burton-movies. All in all: whatever catches my fancy. If I find an actor I like, I might try and hunt down as many of their movies as I can.
Do you play games? If so, what do you like?: I guess it's easier to say that I don't like quiz-games. :)
If you like to read, what do you read?: Crime novels, (mostly) European comic books, knitting books and non-fiction. Harry Potter (and other fantasy).
What kind of music do you listen to?: Metal, mostly black metal (with crossovers), but also (some) death metal, folk metal and softer stuff like Ghost and Hällas. The Norwegian prog-rock band Tusmørke. I'll also listen to pop and more mainstream music if I think the band/song is good, but my little, black heart beats mostly for metal.

How often do you update?: It varies wildly, unfortunately. I try to update somewhat regularly, but it depends on my energy levels.
What do you look for in a DW friend?: That they update every once in awhile, and that they comment every once in awhile (I know I post about some fairly niche subjects, and I really don't expect others to share my exact level of passion about them).
What do you like to read about on your friends page?: Whatever my friends like to write about. Even if I'm not completely into the same things/fandoms, it's nice to read about people's passions.
Do you have any kind of friending policy?: Not really. I used to have the "please no minors add me"-policy, but I'm not really sure people under 18 are using DW/LJ a lot these days.
Do you have any deal-breakers?: Anti-vaxxers, anti-science (I'm a pagan and I think the paranormal/cryptozoology are interesting subjects, but I also like to keep a level head and look for natural explanations for different phenomena). People who are too pro-science and who ridicule any interest in the paranormal. Very militant atheists. People who are unable to say "let's agree to disagree".
Is there anything others should know before friending?: I sometimes post RPS/RPF. I try to comment to the best of my abilities, but even though I check my f-list daily, I might not always have the energy to comment on posts right away. Don't be surprised if I comment on entries a few days later. ;)
English is not my first language. While I try to write somewhat correct English I can't promise that a sentence won't read a bit weird here or there, or that I'll use commas in a way that's more fitting for Danish or German.

Anything else? I wrote my master's thesis in history on Norwegian black metal, and thus I'm an actual black metal historian. :) Despite having been a fan of cycling for a little over 25 years I'm not a cyclist, I'll only ride my bike to work and for shorter errands.
If something interests me, I'll look up anything I can find about it, even if it's in languages I technically don't know. So I've read books about Tintin in French, Arthurian romances in Middle English and watch interviews with Italian cyclists in Italian even though I've never studied any of these languages.

What do you post about?: My life. My brain wanderings. Sometimes I think I come across more negative than I really am. Writing is a good way for me to work through my feelings and of course the feelings I need to work through are going to be the negative ones.

What do you look for in a DW friend?: I'm not picky. I don't need my friends to like everything I like or agree with everything I think, say, or do. I'm pretty laid back.

What does your day to day look like?: I work as a state government attorney, so I am pretty busy with work. My husband is moving this fall to medical school, likely in Puerto Rico, so some of my future entries will be about adjusting to that change in my life.

What do you like to watch?: I watch mostly streaming services except during football season, when Sundays are big football days here. (It will be SO hard without my husband here. Oof.) I watch a variety of things, but one niche area is travel and international house hunting shows. We also watch a lot of French Netflix. My husband is French-American. I also love Jeopardy, but I rarely get to watch it anymore because it airs here while I am at work.
What movies do you enjoy?: I love musicals, horror (paranormal, not slasher or gore), dramas, romantic comedies, you name it. My all-time favorite movies are Moulin Rouge!, Dream for an Insomniac, and Evita.

If you like to read, what do you read?: I read a LOT! I read bit of everything. I guess mostly I read general fiction and chick lit, but I also love historical fiction and memoirs. I find time to read every day.
What kind of music do you listen to?: I listen to a bit of everything, although I don't know much about modern Top 40 stuff. My favorite band is The Cure. I have seen them 13 times in 4 countries, with tickets to see them 4 more times in 3 countries later this year. Some other bands I really love are Placebo, The Killers, Chvrches, Lake Street Dive, Arcade Fire, The Decemberists, Joy Division, Pet Shop Boys, and The Smiths. But then I also like country a lot. I prefer older country, like Willie Nelson (a hero to me), Dolly Parton or Tanya Tucker, but I also really love The (formerly Dixie) Chicks. And then I like some popular stuff, like Billie Eilish, but I don't know a lot of the more recent stuff. I also love me some Jimmy Buffett, and I have a very soft spot for Selena.

What do you post about?: Mostly about my life. I also do monthly recaps of the books I've read and some months do daily outfit posts (one post at the end of the month), an idea I got from a friend. I try to do one ADIML per month, as I am in a community that does those, too. I find those so interesting! What does your day to day look like?: I work 9-5 in an office weekdays, then either stay home or visit with family and the few RL friends I have on weekends. I walk the dog, watch TV, read.

Do you play games? If so, what do you like?: I don't play games generally. I have started watching Critical Role on YouTube
If you like to read, what do you read?: I read daily. Primarily m/m fanfic (Teh Old Guard, Generation Kill, MCU, Teen Wolf, Inception, other fandoms). When I read novels I go with audiobooks. The Wheel of Time, Outlander, The Martian are some of my favourite books/series.
What kind of music do you listen to?: All sorts. I particularly like classic rock, indy rock, and early 2000s punk rock/emo rock. Favourite bands include MCR, Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Muse, Green Day, The Eagles, INXS, Bon Jovi etc.
