Are you into fandom?: No not really. I started LiveJournal because of it though, from being obsessed with Veronica Mars. But I've never been into anything else that same way, before or since.
What does your day to day look like?: I own a cafe and we're in between locations (ugh don't get me started on it) so my days are really random right now. For money, I'm donating plasma regularly, I am in a clinical trial, and I dog sit and clean a friend's parents' place. I'm also trying to enjoy the free time I have because once we get the cafe up and running again, I won't have as much time to meet new people or date or go to REALLY GAY events! :D

What do you like to watch?: Anything that has lesbian characters and is supposed to be good, I'm basically catching up with many years of media I've missed. I really enjoyed Sense8, Orphan Black, Killing Eve, Good Trouble, Sex Education, tons more that I can't think of right now.
What movies do you enjoy?: I'm not as into movies. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is my long-time favorite, and Wristcutters: A Love Story is my next favorite. I enjoy movies but don't think about them much afterwards, probably because I don't get the connection with the characters the same way as tv shows.
Do you play games? If so, what do you like?: Dance Dance Revolution and whatever board games my friends want to play, I like most board games and card games.
If you like to read, what do you read?: I haven't read as much lately, but lesbian mysteries are fun.
What kind of music do you listen to?: Oi, this answer will get way too long lol. Garbage is my all-time favorite since middle school. The Dresden Dolls/Amanda Palmer was my college obsession. Metric, Halsey, Sia, and Cloud Cult are some of the rest of my Super-Favorites. K.Flay is my more recent obsession. I've also been finding all the Queer Music (tm) the past few years. (for context, I was pretty much gay, but in a relationship with a guy for 7 1/2 years, and have been single for a little over two years and have been sort of using this time to reclaim my sexuality). I'm currently really into phem, Sizzy Rocket, Zolita, UPSAHL, FLAVIA, Daya, FLETCHER, BEGINNERS, Lauren Sanderson, THE BLSSM, XYLO, GIRLI... I could go on and on...

What do you post about?: Life, which is mostly lived on the weekends. Dates, makeouts, meetups, events, markets and local festivals. Lots of pictures (though that doesn't seem as easy on DW as on LJ so I dunno). Mental health struggles, mine and everyone I know, pretty much. The trials and tribulations of the shitty ass new landlord for the cafe.
How often do you update?: About twice a week.
What do you look for in a DW friend?: People who post about their lives, it's so interesting to get a window into different people's heads from all over the world (especially things like COVID and this Ukraine war, it's so interesting to see how things are in other places). People who are VERY gay-friendly and non-judgmental.
What do you like to read about on your friends page?: Oh oops I kind of already answered that above.
Do you have any kind of friending policy?: No, I mean, I prefer if people comment at least once in a while, but also aren't going to be upset if I don't comment every time. I do read always, sometimes it takes a while to catch up and I feel awkward commenting after too many days. • Live Music - In 2019 I attended 75 live shows, mainly rock, punk-rock and ska.
• Transportation - mainly passenger ships and planes, but also rail, RVs, Jeeps, etc.

Any dislikes?: Auto-tune, cigarettes, those stupid farting mufflers, "reality" shows, superficiality, loud "look-at-me" personalities.

Are you into fandom?: I have never really understood what this means. I am a fan of lots of things, but--other than music--I'm not really in "a culture" about it. I write fiction but my other interests only tangentially appear in it.

What does your day to day look like?: Grudgingly get out of bed (total night owl) drink coffee and catch up for half an hour, go to work either at home or the office (just started going back a few days a week). Try to sneak in a walk at lunch if time and weather allow. Cook something, work on writing or video edits, or teach one night a week on Zoom. Work out. Sleep.

If you like to read, what do you read?: I used to read voraciously but my vision is jacked up and by the time I'm done with what I have to get done online I struggle to focus on paper books. Trying to get into the audio book habit. I mainly like fiction, particularly if there is a strong male/male friendship arc. The Wind in the Willows was a childhood favorite and I read The Art of Racing in the Rain years before it was a movie. Also like big coffee table books about my geekdoms.

What kind of music do you listen to?: My favorite subgenre is called "orgcore" after punknews.org but I like a wide range including folk, classical, ska, Americiana. The Gaslight Anthem, the Menzingers, Against Me!, Dave Hause, Chuck Ragan, Ani DiFranco, Rise Against, the Bouncing Souls, etc. Mainly I want substance over style; not much for rap, EDM or overproduced pop.

What do you post about?: My day-to-day musings and encounters, the concerts I go to, occasional updates on the world of shipping and aviation.

How often do you update?: I have written a post per day for years. They don't always go live on the day they are describing though.

What do you look for in a DW friend?: People who want to interact; who will comment and reply to comments. Not really looking for more "celebrity" bloggers to follow without interaction unless you are extremely interesting. Also, if your posts are all public I am less likely to comment in much depth, because see below.

What do you like to read about on your friends page?: Your life, your ideas, things you make or wish for, funny things that happen.

Do you have any kind of friending policy?: I give as I get. I rarely unfriend anybody unless you are picking fights or whatnot, but--like everybody--I am busy and I am far more likely to spend time on your posts and comment if I feel like you are doing likewise.

Do you have any deal-breakers?: I don't need to be in an echo chamber where we agree on everything but I lean toward the progressive and am not really here to have my mind changed. If we're just going to trigger each other, let's skip it.

Is there anything others should know before friending?: I know it is increasingly rare but I am active in a very progressive Christian denomination. I do not try to recruit people but I do talk about my faith and church life sometimes, so if you will hate that then I am probably not for you. Also, because journaling is therapeutic for me I try to keep it separate from my "real life" both online and otherwise. Thus I use pseudos for the people I describe and am unlikely to want to expand our connection beyond DW (there have been exceptions). I identify as biromantic gray ace, meaning I am aesthetically/emotionally drawn to some people but sexuality is not a big part of who I am. I have long struggled to figure out where I "fit" because of this

Are you into fandom?: I'm not nearly as active as I used to be, but I'm kind of getting that groove back and may start posting fic again. Most of my activity was within Kpop fandom (EXO ♡), but I also really enjoy some anime and read fic, browse fanart, contemplate series-inspired jewelry or crochet patterns.
What does your day to day look like?: Wake up before eight AM, fart around online a bit before parking myself in front of the TV to watch cartoons while crocheting until lunchtime, after which I work until nine PM and then watch more cartoons or just go to bed.

What do you like to watch?: My favorite genres are mystery, horror, and period dramas. Forever favorites are Scooby Doo and Looney Tunes, though. I enjoy cartoons from the 40s-70s the most. There's a growing interest in British TV mysteries and dramas, I've noticed, as well. I recently got into Midsomer Murders thanks to my mother and went on to watch Bergerac. I'm rewatching the anime Natsume Yuujinchou now.

Still pick them up now and then to try reading; I'm a couple chapters into War and Peace and Dracula. I more enthusiastically read mysteries and any genre manga, if the style is pleasant. Currently, I'm reading the Moomin stories.

Travelling and photography also used to be big things in my life but the past two years have managed to snuff those out of me for now. In the summer time I also run, cycle and swim a lot!
Do you have any interests, that wouldn't fall under a hobby?: My cats, trying out different pizza topping combinations, checking out new restaurants and cafes, staying updated on the news, watching YouTube videos, listening to music (I wouldn't count it as a hobby because I don't just listen to music, I do it while I'm doing something else like working)...
Any dislikes?: War, conservatives, cruelty, bigotry, Covidiots, racism, and, well, the usual dislikes. Shitty people in general, I suppose. Loud gum chewers, the amount of snow and ice my city got this winter, and so on.
Are you into fandom?: Not really.
What does your day to day look like?: I wake up around 8:30, have breakfast with coffee and vitamin water, and watch a little bit of TV as I enjoy it. Then I'll work from home until noon after which I'll do my daily exercise, and then I'll have my lunch with the TV on again. Some days I'll continue to work after this, sometimes all the way until midnight or even past it, while on other days I'm all done with the day's work by noon. If it's the latter, I'll clean and read and watch TV until my partner gets home, then we'll game for 1-2 hours, and then we'll have a late dinner which we'll eat in separate rooms watching our own stuff. I go to bed once I start dozing off during whatever it is I'm watching.

What do you like to watch?: So many different shows! But here's a few examples: The Vampire Diaries, Two and a Half Men, The Haunting, The Blacklist, Supernatural, Revenge, Person of Interest, Lucifer, Hart of Dixie, Friends, Dynasty (2017 one), Dark Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 9-1-1.

Do you have any hobbies?: -- landscape and wildlife photography with both my phone and DSLR camera, music (I sing in a church choir and play the flute), writing, though journaling is about it. I'm not sure I have the creativity to write fiction. I discovered the internet in 1994, and it's a borderline addiction. It truly changed my life. I embraced (some) social media and love connecting with friends online
Do you have any interests, that wouldn't fall under a hobby?: -- I'm not sure how to differentiate "hobby" from "Interest" -- but I love my husband, my two tuxedo kitties, Felix and Misty (hence my user name, sweetmeow), and coffee. It's "food group!" (LOL)
Any dislikes?: -- I don't like to cook, but I cook because I must eat! I'm also not into gardening or house plants. I tend to kill them! LOL!
Are you into fandom?: -- Honestly I'm not quite sure how to define "fandom." I don't think I am.
What does your day to day look like?: -- I am a night owl, so I get up later than some -- around 8 to 9 a.m. I have coffee, a bagel, play some games on my phone, and watch the news for maybe an hour. Then I move on to my day: errands, reading DW and LJ or other online activities, basic house maintenance. I usually save time for some photography, depending on my mood and the weather. Ray and I go out for dinner about 2 times a week. Thursday night is choir practice. During the evening I watch a little more news, then get to bed any time from 11 p.m. on FYI - I'm not overwatching / reading the news these days because it's traumatic and there's nothing I can do about it. Yet, I feel compelled to remain current and don't bury my head in the sand, either.

What do you like to watch?: -- the news - usually on CNN. But, my guilty pleasure is watching TLC "reality" shows, which, by the way, are NOT reality. They are purely an escape.
What movies do you enjoy?: -- I'm not much of a movie watcher. But - sometimes I enjoy watching a movie together with my husband or friends as a social activity. I prefer comedy-dramas. I can't think of the last one, though.
Do you play games? If so, what do you like?: -- I play a few games on my phone: Wordle, Quordle, Words With Friends, Bejeweled, Toon Blast.
If you like to read, what do you read?: -- I'm also not too much of a reader. Because of my eyesight, I read painfully slowly. I've explained that in a few posts and can direct you to them if interested. I am proud that I made it through college with a 3.02 average, and was able to keep up with the intense required reading of my American Studies major.
What kind of music do you listen to?: -- I love many music genres: rock, classical, sacred classical. I love going to concerts, rock and otherwise, especially outdoor summer concerts in the park. Since the pandemic, I've loved hunting for youtube videos of virtual choirs, because our choir sang in that fashion during the pandemic when choirs could not meet in person! I'm also enamored with the One Voice Children's Choir. They sing covers for a lot of current songs.

What do you post about?: -- My daily life, thoughts, feelings, and some introspection. I can be too verbose, cynical, and negative at times, but use my journal to temper that and change my attitude. I also post photos, though not in every post. Only very occasionally (and only when overwhelmed about it) do I post about politics. (FYI - I'm center left) I do post about church stuff but mostly about singing in the choir. Occasionally I post about a church study I'm doing, but usually put it under a cut so people can skip it if they want. the bottom line: I do not want to nor intend to push religion or faith onto anyone. Heck, I'm not always confident in my own beliefs, so that's a good reason not to push them on anyone else!
How often do you update?: -- On average, I post about 3 times a week. I can go longer, yet I have periods when I post daily. My theory is: Sometimes one can write about life, other times one must live life. But - sometimes one can do both!
What do you look for in a DW friend?: -- I'm interested in making a genuine connection with my DW friends I've made a number of life-long friends during my 20 years on LJ (and I hope to find more here on DW). I don't require comments on every post and prefer comments motivated by a genuine interest in something I wrote - not just for the sake of commenting.
What do you like to read about on your friends page?: -- Their daily life and feelings about their life - stuff they're into and love!. However, I'm not a fan of journals that are purely memes (a few are fine), Twitter feeds, or book reviews. An occasional fandom story is ok, too - but not a journal that's purely that.
Do you have any kind of friending policy?: -- not really. I like people who share interests, but I also totally enjoy those who live a different lifestyle.
Do you have any deal-breakers?: -- Die-hard Trump supporters, anti-vaxxers, anti-maskers, Q-anon believers (and believers of other conspiracy theories) need not enter.
Is there anything others should know before friending?: -- FYI: I keep my real life and online life pretty separate. My family (except for my husband) and real-life friends don't know I keep a journal online, and I don't want them to know. This is a place where I can vent about things that might not be appropriate to speak about in my day-to-day world.

Not so much now. Have been into Star Trek [Klingons!] and Babylon 5 [Psi Corps] You may notice a trend. These days I watch and enjoy a lot of stuff but don’t get serious about it. I do have a fixation of sorts on Crowley in Supernatural but less about the show itself these days. It wasn’t well written. Last binge watch was Vikings and one of my rats is named Ragnar. Since his species is the Norway Rat, I think this is quite appropriate!


What does your day to day look like?:

Depends on the day. I work part time so if that’s happening I ride the e-bike into the city and spend the day hooked up to a computer, transcribing courts.

If that’s not happening, I mess around online at home, take care of the place and garden, ride to do shopping/bookstores/library visits. Some evenings there is a RP game at a friend’s place. I ride there also. Some Sundays there is another game via Discord. Things are fairly quiet, even quieter now that our state is finally experiencing large COVID outbreaks. We have been isolated for two years. I chat to folk online and play Lexulous. Some days I have to do what I call parental wrangling as my mother needs assistance.

I have depression and anxiety and sometimes worry about offending people without meaning to. I actually miss lockdowns because they were so peaceful. I especially enjoyed the lack of traffic. This doesn’t mean I don’t get how damaging the lockdowns have been to our society. It felt like a world better suited to introverts who may possibly be on the autistic spectrum. I haven’t been diagnosed but when I was having therapy, my psychologist did agree that it was a possibility.

Hello there! I feel like we have quite a bit in common - I am also very possibly on the autism spectrum despite not being officially diagnosed. I'm on the trans spectrum as well (genderfluid in my case) and suffer of depression, even though I'm doing okay right now. It will sometimes rear its ugly head though.

Love reading too, and I have gotten into dystopias in the past couple years so I think it would be cool to get inspiration from you as to which ones to read :)

Do you have any hobbies?: Writing fanfiction, doing and coaching gymnastics. Going back to school (for math/"anything I crashed and burned on in high school and want a second chance at") was a hobby, but is hopefully soon to turn into a, well, degree/second career, so I guess that's not a hobby any more.
Do you have any interests, that wouldn't fall under a hobby?: My current job is playing in a professional symphony orchestra, so music is an interest but not a hobby (but also sometimes a hobby, I guess.) Also, I have two rabbits, Ada and Mips, who are the best rabbits in the universe, and occasionally post pictures of them.
Any dislikes?: Well... sure? Erm... war, climate change, big dogs that jump on you, mealy tomatoes, twitter, not having time to do all the things I want to do, insecure conductors, unresponsive reeds, exploitation, boring art, etc.
Are you into fandom?: Yes! My main fandom is Hannibal, but currently and for the foreseeable future my main project is a NBC-Hannibal-but-make-it-330-BC AU, so a lot of my fannish energy is taken up with ancient history research.
What does your day to day look like?: Very heterogeneous, because my symphony schedule is very irregular and I have school (currently taking physics and TA-ing precalc at my local university, applying to engineering programs and waiting to hear back) and gymnastics and occasionally other activities.

What do you like to watch?: I don't tend to watch a lot of TV but I try to watch movies while I'm making reeds. The last show I watched all the way through was Succession, though, which I loved and talked about some!
What movies do you enjoy?: Well, when I look back through my movies tag from the past little while, my favourites that I watched relatively recently were Kontroll, Sebastiane, The Handmaiden, and Wadjda. But I'm generally fairly monofannish and wouldn't classify most of the movies I watch as potential fannish objects.
Do you play games? If so, what do you like?: I don't game-- the few times I have tried them I found it very difficult to resolve the visual cues into intelligible information and mostly ended up crashing into walls, which isn't super entertaining.
If you like to read, what do you read?: I am currently having a Mary Renault phase, so Renault fans very welcome (Is this related to my current fanfic project? Yes. Definitely. Probably. It's complicated.) Other general favourite authors: Neal Stephenson, Magda Szabó, Elif Batuman, and David Foster Wallace (I generally don't talk about IJ that much because a) people who talk about IJ unsolicited are irritating and b) I don't like most other peoples' opinions on IJ but if you WANT to talk about IJ then PLEASE DO.) Other recent favourite books: Confessions of the Fox, Narrow Rooms, Tender is the Flesh, and a collection of the history books I've been reading for fic research.
What kind of music do you listen to?: I find it really hard to categorize or claim to like or dislike music by genre. Bach is the throughline of the universe and essential to my functioning. I really love Buffy Sainte-Marie (who I have met/played with! 😍), Pierre Lapointe and Joe Crookston in the folk-ish space (I think? idk, like I said, I don't know how to classify musical genre) have an enduring affection for the music of the now-defunct bloodgrass band Murder Murder. I've also been listening a lot to popular-style/electronic instrumental minimalist kind of stuff like Vessel and Jóhann Jóhannsson recently.

What do you post about?: All of the above. Sometimes current events. Sometimes the program notes I wrote for the symphony, or transcripts of speeches I give about music.
How often do you update?: Erratically, for which I apologize. Anywhere from one a week to several times a day.
What do you look for in a DW friend?: I suppose I just want to add people who post entries I find interesting, but I can't really summarize what I find interesting all that specifically-- there are people I love reading that I have almost nothing in common with. But that's the way friendship works, I guess-- I'm not friends with someone because we happen to like the same movie, I'm friends with people I feel I can understand and be understood by.
What do you like to read about on your friends page?: For the reasons above, can't really say, but I suppose I can say that if your DW consists only of highly specific fandom stuff about fandoms or properties I don't know, I probably won't be interested. I'm often interested in fandom stuff I don't know if it's contextualized within someone's life and interests, though.

Do you have any deal-breakers?: I suppose the usual ones about bigotry and such, but really I think the unspoken dealbreaker is always "if I don't like the things you post and get a bad vibe from you then I won't add or interact with you because that's how the internet works," so I suppose I both give and expect no guarantees.
Is there anything others should know before friending?: I generally lock entries that are in some way personally identifying, involve reference to people I know in meatspace, or contain photos of my home/city/etc. So if you click on my journal right now, what you see is roughly half of what you get. I don't go by my walletname online, but it would likely be relatively easy to find it out from the information in my locked posts if for some reason you wanted to; obviously, my expectation is that anyone granted access to my locked posts will not share those posts or the information in them outside of that lock. I tend to grant access to anyone who subscribes, regardless of whether I follow back, because a) I assume nobody on DW is interested in outing me, and b) having my fannish identity outed in my meatspace life would be merely irritating, but in my position not dangerous or significant, so the stakes are low. Still, y'know, please don't.

Happy Death Day was one of my favorite movies I watched last year; so was the Fear Street trilogy on Netflix.

I’ve been playing Horizon Forbidden West, love the Assassin’s Creed series, Death Stranding was my favorite last year, Hollow Knight was great. Ghost of Tsushima was great. Control was great. Is there anything others should know before friending?: I'm not always speedy at replying - I've got a job, a kid (almost a teen now, where have the years gone) and a mostly elderly family who are in the best of health, so you might be waiting a day or two sometimes. It's not that I'm ignoring people, it will either be that I've not had time to read your post/comment, or my brain is mush that day and fill with too much irl and replying to anything just isn't happening.

Anything else? I used to run Torchwood_classic, Torchwood_classic_bigbang and the Torchwood last author standing comms on Live journal back about a 10 years ago. If you were ever active in those - reading or writing - I've imported all three comms over here to Dreamwidth - I've managed to get it all, even the comments, to import.
