Lois McMaster Bujold is brilliant. There are also tidbits scattered throughout older stories, back before anyone thought it was particularly a big deal.

That sounds cool. Not a lot of places in America have enough cherry trees for a festival.

Bummer. Personal mishaps have always occurred, but now the trend is that a "4-year" degree more often takes 5-6 due to colleges larding on unneeded classes and not making sure the requirements stack concisely.

Go you! They do have some nice attachments. I think the shredder is the one we use the most, for making squash bread.

Just different traditions -- dragon dances, red envelopes, lucky rice, etc.
