My reply is on the second page, in case you are interested, but I wanted to ask you whether you'd like to be friends on here? If not, that is totally fine, of course. :) No hard feelings then.
My name is Rina. I am 38 years old, living in Germany, I LOVE the Japanese language and I admire your skill for wanting to try at the JLPT N1. Also, kudos to you for playing the koto (I used to be part of an orchestra in which somebody played the koto sometimes, it sounds so lovely!!). To me, it sometimes was a bit confusing, so I chose to play the hichiriki. Did you study music or Japanese by any chance? Either way, have a lovely rest of the day. Hope you had a good start into the new year, and that this one will bring you all the things you desire~!!
I just read your comment and it sounds like at least a few of our interests overlap :) So yes!
Where did you start playing the hichiriki? It looks like an interesting instrument, but I've never had the chance to try it out. I started playing koto, because I was living in Japan (during an exchange) and I hadn't brought my harp with me. Then the music teacher at a nearby elementary school was looking for people to join her koto group for a performance, and because they knew I played harp, they asked me to join. Part of the performance was recorded.
Awww, I am currently listening to the recording :)! How lovely it sounds! ^^ I studied at the University of Cologne (musicology + Japanese studies), and even though I didn't finish my degree, I still think back at it a lot. Part of the orchestras offered there was a Gagaku ensemble, I tried to learn more about Gagaku, got to try out some instruments, and I liked the hichiriki best :), so I stuck to it for the rest of my studies. ^^
