The New Year Do you have any resolutions?: No, I haven't done resolutions in a number of years. If there's something I want to change or improve upon, then I'm usually already doing it. If I'm not, then the new year usually isn't enough to motivate me. Are there any new books, music, games, shows, etc. that you want to dive into?: I would like to watch more TV series in general, like Inventing Anna, The Dropout, and so on. I usually prefer films due to the comparative lack of time commitment, but I know that there's a ton of great shows that I'm missing out on. Are there any small or big events that you're planning for this year?: Going to Australia. Any new interests/hobbies that you'd like to try out?: Boudeoir photography. I already love photography, but I've been too shy to dive into this particular style. I've always loved it, though, and I would love helping other women feel beautiful if I were to photograph them this way. I'd also like to explore burlesque and belly dance. Did you accomplish your resolutions from last year?: I didn't have resolutions last year, either! What were your favorite memories from the past year?: Being with my parents in Chicago and meeting my favourite Aussie. Do you have any new years traditions?: Not really. Is there anything you'd like to do more of in 2023?: Read, meet new people, explore new recipes, make more floral arrangements if money allows.
The New Friends What kind of friend(s) are you searching for?: Honestly, any, as long as they're 18+ and don't go against any deal breakers. I'm capable of getting along with most people. However, it would be fun to meet others who play the same games that I do (Final Fantasy, especially FFXIV, and Animal Crossing). Any new friends should also be kink-friendly. I've yet to write about the D/s aspect of my romantic life, but it could potentially come up in the future, and I'd like to feel comfortable writing about it if so. What do you like to read about?: Anything! I mean it. I'm perfectly happy to read about people's daily lives, projects, thoughts, reviews... whatever tickles their fancy. Enthusiasm is the most appealing thing, not the topic itself! How often do you check your friends feed?: It depends. I'd say every few days at least, even if I don't comment on every entry. Do you have any deal-breakers?: The usual bigotry stances. However, I'm aware that most people wouldn't consider themselves a bigot, so I'll simply say that we probably won't get along if you're socially right-wing (I don't agree with fiscal right-wing politics either, but I have been friends with those types before). Do you mind reading about fandom?: No, although if we don't share the fandom, I probably won't comment as I likely won't feel that I have anything to contribute. If so, what fandoms would you like to read about?: Any, but I'm more likely to engage if it's about Final Fantasy, Harry Potter, Fringe, The X-Files... anything listed in my interests, really.
Currently... Reading: Nothing, but I'd like to start The Drowned World by J. G. Ballard soon. Watching: Season 2 of Emily in Paris. Playing: FFXIV. Thinking about: How I need to grab something to eat, but my cat's sitting on my arm and I don't want to disturb him. Hobby/Interest: Baking cookies. Planning for: Finding a new job.
>>Boudeoir photography. I already love photography, but I've been too shy to dive into this particular style. I've always loved it, though, and I would love helping other women feel beautiful if I were to photograph them this way.<<
That sounds awesome. I like photography, but most of what I do is nature stuff.
>> I'd also like to explore burlesque and belly dance. <<
Burlesque is a challenging form. I don't know if it has an easy end. Belly dance is intricate at the top end, but it's actually easy at the bottom end where you are just doing one or two things at a time. It's mostly made of isolations. You can literally just stand there in a nice pose doing one move and it's dancing. Also great exercise. There was a TV program for a while called Shimmy that had great lessons. Me, I learned in bits and pieces at Renaissance faires.
>>Any new friends should also be kink-friendly. I've yet to write about the D/s aspect of my romantic life, but it could potentially come up in the future, and I'd like to feel comfortable writing about it if so.<<
I've written kink, if you're into reading it.

Hey there, I think we could make good friends here! I am also 33, from the US but living in Norway, and am planning a trip to Australia this year haha. Love reading and Harry Potter too, and I find the kink stuff you mention very interesting. I write about expat life, dating, work, social life, etc. Let me know if you have any questions!
Hello! It's very nice to meet you. It definitely sounds like we've got quite a bit in common (I read your friending comment here too)! Just added you, and I hope your own Australia trip pans out ♥
