What fandoms are you into: Schitt's Creek, 9-1-1, Our Flag Means Death. Other fannish interests include Red White & Royal Blue (more so the book than the movie), Parks and Recreation, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Buffy, Firefly and Heartstopper.

Do you have an active fandom, or just into multiple at once: SC and 9-1-1 are the ones most in my periphery, and I've read and written a lot of SC fic. I haven't read a lot of 9-1-1 fic, but I'm slowly getting into it, and may write it eventually. Mostly I just have a lot of feelings about canon. Same with Our Flag Means Death and the fannish interests I mentioned.

How do you participate in fandom: (Fic, art, icons, etc) A bit of fic, a bit of meta, and I love listening to podcasts. I will say that I am a bit more fannish on tumblr, but mostly because not a lot of people are in my current fandoms. I have a few OFMD friends, but I don't think anyone on my friends list is as into Schitt's Creek and 9-1-1 as I am.


Which do you favor? Fandom is...a hobby, a way of life, or fandom is not my thing: Interesting. I would say it's a hobby, but it's also a huge part of my personality in general. If I watch a show or a movie or read a book, I want to talk about it at length. If I don't have anyone to talk to about it, I will instead look for reviews and perhaps a TV Tropes page. I don't know how to be "normal" about things, nor do I want to be. :)

Do you have any favorite ships: David/Patrick, Buddie, Bobby/Athena, Lucius/Pete.

In terms of fandom, what kind of friend are you looking for: I realize two of my fandoms have almost zero DW presence, so I'm not necessarily looking for someone who is into those things, though if you are I'd love to connect. What I would like is someone who enjoys talking about shows, books and movies.

I'm also looking for someone who enjoys having conversations! I find a lot of people just want to say a thing, and aren't really interested in talking about the thing. Which I totally respect, but I'd love more friends who post because they want to dive into something, fannish or not.

Do you have any favorite fanworks that you'd like to share: My favorite fanwork I'm working on right now is the next installment of Hold Every Memory. It's my passion project, my fix-it fic of another person's fic (done with permission and out of love).

Fandoms tend to be drama filled because people don't mind their business, you know what I mean? So I'd like to be able to ship whatever, like this or that character, while feeling comfortable about it. Trust me, I'll respect your stuff too. Other than that, I'd love it if we could leave comment on each other's journals, even if it's just to say hello, and if we could get recs from each other or discuss anything fandom-related in a friendly way.
How do you like to communicate: I try to read entries and leave comments, even though I don't always remember to do it or I might miss an entry. I've never used private messaging here but I wouldn't mind to try it!

How often do you post: Not very often, as you can tell, but I'm trying to change that. I'm aiming for not-daily, but ideally several times a week.

I also create canons that other people write fanfic in (the Berettaflies thread of Polychrome Heroics has a bunch linked), and shared worlds (see Crossover Content and Original Content in Schrodinger's Heroes).

I moderate two relevant communities. allbingo is a creative bingo community where you can play any card, any time. We host a new fest each month; April is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with its Cartoon Meet & Greet. May will have a Superhero Bingo Fest. crowdfunding is for creators and fans of cyberfunded creativity. We hold a mid-month Creative Jam; next up will be May 18-19 with a theme of "Nature." This is useful if you write in very old fandoms (e.g. Robin Hood, Arthurian Cycle) or shared worlds / mythos / cycles (e.g. Cthulhu Mythos).

What do you have against vegans/vegetarians/pescetarians? I'm not looking for drama or anything, just curious.

A lot of very bad experiences where I've been shamed for being an omnivore or someone who doesn't solely eat fish when I'm not eating vegetables and faced a lot of recruitment for this or that diet trend (one instance involved an hour long talk at work from a senior coworker which was deeply uncomfortable and included references to child abuse). I'm also really not interested in bloggers who solely/mostly post about it, similar to diet bloggers, since a lot of folks who are very big about being vegan/vegetarian/pescatarian and post about it bake in food shame into their wording, and as someone who's struggled a lot with diet culture and food shame, that is not fun for me. Also sometimes I just talk about eating meat that isn't fish cause I like it/talk about my own cooking and while I'm sure plenty of folks are chill with it even if they don't eat it, I know that's not comfortable for a lot of those folks anyway.

I don't fan the right way to fit into any fandoms so trying to answer the questions just resulted in a mess. But maybe there's someone else who's into or curious about Thai series and movies? This is the wee community I started https://raikantopeni.dreamwidth.org/ It's not much, just me talking to myself in order to make a space someone else might stumble on. No one else reads my journal either so it's become somewhere to vent into the void. Mostly I add to a very long piece of nonsense I write to cheer myself up so I'm more active here than my post dates indicate. How I use both my journal and the community would likely change if there was interaction.

Anyway, my life is pretty boring. I like Asian dramas in theory but find much Cdrama and Kdrama to be too stressful given the state of the world. My fandom of one is Thai series and movies. Do you have any favorite fanworks that you'd like to share: recently I wrote a one-shot about Jason and Bruce, as well as a few dcu drabbles for the three sentences ficathon.

Anime: Shingeki no Kyojin (I have to finish it). Others I want to complete/watch more of (I’ve only watched a few episodes) are Princess Tutu, Revolutionary Girl Utena, or Cowboy Bebop. But who knows when I’ll have the time ^^U
Books: (had to add it) Dangerous Liaisons, Frankenstein, His Dark Materials, Medea, The Essence of the Equinox.
Movies: Alien, Blancanieves (2012), Pan’s Labyrinth, The Handmaiden, The Lion in Winter.

Do you have an active fandom, or just into multiple at once: I am very multifandom and hop around a lot, but I generally have one or two at a time that show up the most. Right now that's AEW and Stranger Things.
How do you participate in fandom: I read and write a lot of fic and make icons. Sometimes I'll make other graphics, fanmixes, or fancrafts.
Which do you favor? Fandom is...: a way of life, I guess. It sure takes up a lot of time and energy in my life!

What do you post about: I do a Wednesday post every week about what I'm reading/watching/listening to/writing. I also post icons I make for challenges. Sometimes I make locked posts that are more personal, but I feel like my life is pretty boring so that only happens every month or so.

Do you have an active fandom, or just into multiple at once: Multiple. Depending on my mood and matching genre, I'm more focused on some more than others.
How do you participate in fandom: (Fic, art, icons, etc) Truthfully, I'm more casual than anything else, although I will write fanfiction and even occasionally draw or craft something, like crochet or using felt. I've not really been Active in fandom since those simpler anime fandom days back during and before high school... Those were the days, my friend.
