The New Year Do you have any resolutions?: Not really. I promised myself to come back to write more here on DW, read more books and spend less hours on Instagram… nothing new! :D Are there any new books, music, games, shows, etc. that you want to dive into?: I would like to read fewer novels and more scientific or historical essays. I would also like to find some interesting TV series, because I haven't found one that I'm really passionate about for a long time. Are there any small or big events that you're planning for this year?: I just turned 40 and I would like to celebrate it all year long! Seriously, hopefully I would like to travel to the USA next summer. Any new interests/hobbies that you'd like to try out?: Not new interests, but I hope to "improve" in my current passions: for example trying new recipes in the kitchen, exploring new routes by motorbike and on foot. Did you accomplish your resolutions from last year?: I haven't really made good resolutions for years, or at least I haven't written them! What were your favorite memories from the past year?: Starting to travel again and meet people in a more normal way after the worst period of the pandemic. Do you have any new years traditions?: My tradition at the beginning of the year is to go for a long walk on January 1st, in nature or in some cities of art, when usually many are still recovering their strength from the night's festivities. Is there anything you'd like to do more of in 2023?: Take better care of myself and my family.
The New Friends What kind of friend(s) are you searching for?: People who want to discuss serious things and at the same time laugh about small everyday things; open-minded people, who give me food for thought and an insight into countries and cultures other than mine. I would prefer women, with an age not too far from mine. What do you like to read about?: I like reading about everyday life, which is also my main topic. How often do you check your friends feed?: I hope to be able to do this weekly! Do you have any deal-breakers?: So far here I have never faced people or issues that have put me in difficulty: if this were to happen once or twice I would pass on; if I was in constant embarrassment I would probably unfollow that person. Do you mind reading about fandom?: I'm not particularly interested, even if occasionally I dedicate a few lines to movies and TV series. If so, what fandoms would you like to read about?: -

Reading: "The Brooklyn Follies" by Paul Aster Watching: "Jack Ryan" on Amazon Playing: Nothing, I'm the worst video game player ever :D Thinking about: Do I really have to go back to work on Monday? LOL Hobby/Interest: Cooking and eating (hey, I'm Italian!), traveling (possibly by motorbike or car), walking in nature, chatting over a coffee with a friend. Hi Elena, I would like to get to know you since I think we have a bunch of stuff in common (like, I share literally all the hobbys and interests you listed) and you just sound really nice. (and if that is you in your icon, you also look like a nice person - hopefully that doesn't sound creepy)
Also, the people you are looking to meet are pretty much the same that I like to meet here as well. I turn 35 this year so I think that would be close enough in age...and while I identify as genderfluid, I feel female most of the time.
We do the take a hike/walk on first day of the year as well! This year we drove 10 hours! *smack head* returned from visiting family-friends in another state! :) But we did do a few hikes while there - so that counts?
Outside Verona was the first time I experienced snow!!! <3 That's how I always remember the city. Sure, it was on the side of the highway with maybe 2 inches of snow (it was our school trip from Rome, to see the house of Romeo and Juliet!) - but my schoolmates & teachers and the driver were flabbergasted that I had never seen snow (born and raised in Southern India) - so driver stopped the bus on the side of the road so I could frolic in it! ha haha... Lived in Rome a few years when I was a teenager. It was my first country outside my country of birth and so it has a very special place in my heart - the people, the food and the place.
